image thumb60 Pictures Of Windows Phone 7 HTC HD7 / HD3 Leaked

My post yesterday on the Windows Phone 7 and its comparison with the iPhone 4 sounded a bit too biased. I agree on that opinion from the couple of commentators. The primary reason was the Windows Phone 7 looked dull on that LG by all means and I won’t take back my opinion on that. However there is better hardware coming from HTC and we have got pictures of those.

image thumb49 HTC Desire HD ROM Gets Played With, Benchmarked, Equivalent To The Samsung Galaxy

I envy the guys at XDA. And I am being decent here with my language. They are almost always rolling out something new and crazy with all those hacks, jailbreaks, ROMS to add new life to your smartphones. At times before a device is actually made available in the market.

Coming over to the topic, the guys have come out with benchmark scores for the HTC Desire HD, which as we all know was announced only a few days back. From the very first impressions, the results are impressive and the HTC Desire HD outperforms the Google Nexus One on Froyo [Android 2.2] by miles. The updated Snapdragon MSM8255 Processor posted a Quadrant score of almost 2,000 giving just over 56 frames per second.

image thumb35 HTC Releases The Bigger, Badder And Bolder Desires: HTC Desire HD And Desire Z Coming Mid October

To me HTC is synonymous to respect. Not only because it is powered by my favorite mobile OS, the Android but also because for the fact that the design and functionality of the device is superb. I have tried the HTC powered by both the Windows Mobile and the Android and honestly the hardware has never disappointed me. Of course the HTC Desire has been an ultimate favorite I think I rushed in too early to buy HTC Desire as I am envying the upcoming models from the device. Particularly the HTC Desire HD and the HTC Desire Z, both powered by the Android mobile OS.

image thumb25 Clone Wars Continue As Apple iOS 4 Comes To HTC

Apple with it’s proprietary iOS might have everything great about it and it is without a doubt. But in my opinion it must remain with the iPhone alone. But it appears my wish is short lived and the iOS 4.0 has been cloned on an HTC device.

My first impression, it’s a huge insult for HTC and it appears pretty slack. That’s just my opinion, the clone does appear to be pretty decently done. The video shows it has all the basic functions including app switch, keyboard and folders. But the over all performance doesn’t look impressive at all, I mean if you are an iPhone user it wouldn’t be pleasing enough and if you have been using an HTC running on Android, it would leave you disappointed big time as well.

image thumb41 HTC Embraces the 3.5mm Jack for audio, at last

The much needed 3.5mm audio jack will now be seen on the HTC devices, the first to have one will be HTC Hero. I had developed a lot of hate for non 3.5 mm HTC devices and thought why wont they add this instead of the clumsy mini-USB port for the headset? I mean they were competing with the iPhone, ever since the Android came powering its devices. As a user everyone would want this in their smartphones, primarily because the 3.5mm is so easily available and works on any device having it. Seriously, that clumsy min-USB headset is something that has taken the pleasure away from listening to music on my HTC Touch, thankfully future devices of HTC will spear us the torture of the same.

image thumb119 HTC Hero, will be the first Android based device to have Flash, iPhone you can continue sleeping

I guess Apple has some serious issues with Flash and vice versa as it appears that the iPhone might probably be the last hardware to have Flash running. Keeping that aside for now, HTC is all set to be the first cell phone manufacturer to bring Adobe Flash to the Android. This would make HTC to be among the first devices to let mobile users have complete access to web content based on Flash. The new device from HTC, HTC Hero will come loaded with Flash Lite 3.1, which will make it more interactive and have access to more than 80% of the online videos based on Flash. You can watch this in action here.
