The tour of Finland comes to an end along with the MindTrek Conference. I will call it a blessing to be introduced to the innovative startups in the Finnish Web Space, which is one reason why they are getting all the mention they deserve here. The visit to Gemilo was another interesting one, to be honest I didn’t know it existed and it had been providing a building platform to quite a many existing services, some which I had earlier covered during the MindTrek which include Floobs and RunToShop. It has a pretty interesting application, Mapsi which helps people decide quickly what places they need to visit but assigning colors to different locations on the map. For example if I planned to visit a famous pub in Helsinki and it was closed, the application would have it marked as grey, saving me all the energy that I would have otherwise wasted by walking all the way to see it wasn’t open.
I liked their office a lot, wonderful location and a very nice setup added with an even better idea behind the work. A few clips from the visit follow the post
