image thumb135 Wrong Email? Fret Not As Gmail Gives You 30 Seconds To Undo A Message

It has happened several times with me when I typed an email and sent it only to realize I shouldn’t have done so. Google did provide us a precious 5 seconds to cancel sending an email via Gmail, 5 seconds, err…

However the good news is that the time duration has been extended to around half a minute. That gives you a good 30 seconds to undo sending an email. Just don’t confuse that you can undo messages that have been sent already. What Gmail does is keep an email on hold for the given duration before forwarding it to the recipient.

image thumb44 Gmail Goes For Facelift: Contacts And Tasks More Visible

I have always found searching the contacts link on Gmail an almost impossible task, primarily because I have got hundreds of labels which require a lot of scrolling to do. In short, if there is anything bad about Gmail, it is the contacts. Today that changes, something which we had reported earlier.

The change is said to be rolled out today for all Gmail users across the globe. The update will bring the buttons for Mail, Contacts and Tasks just beneath the Gmail logo. That’s not it, the changes are beyond the relocation of buttons and when you click on the contacts, you will see some revamping of the sidebar where contacts are assigned labels. Not just that the contacts are aligned more in a manner you are accustomed to on Gmail. You have drop down menus for Groups, default categories like My Contacts, Family, Friends and Coworkers. Other than that you can of course add your own custom labels as needed.

It appears that we will be seeing a further expansion of the Facebook Like button with the coming of MailChimp version 5.2. The new version, which is supposed to be released in the next week will include support for the plugin to be integrated within email campaigns. So what is this going to do? What ever does online: share your subscription to your Facebook profile if you do like it.

That behavior would help MailChimp keep a better track on the campaign and at the same time become a part of the social media monitoring. I know it sounds super cool for the promoters and campaign managers as we have already seen so much benefits it has brought to everyone around. Firstly it’s easy to get along with, you like a page, just press the button and there it goes to your profile and appearing as an activity on your friends’ news feeds. That brings in loads of referrals to any site and shift that over to emails, you have a viral campaign catching fire on Facebook.

image thumb65 Meebo is expanding its features adds Mail notifications. Does it have plans to launch its Webmail product?

Web based instant messaging company, Meebo appears to be extending the services it offers and integrating email to its desktop notifier.  The notifier has got a new mail tab in its preferences. If users check the option they will be notified about new emails for the various IM accounts they have signed in at Meebo. While email notifications don’t really mean much save for adding another useful feature to the service, but reports state that Meebo is planning something even bigger, apparently the company has changed its employees email address from employee@meebo.com to employee@meebo-inc.com. Is Meebo brewing something bigger in its pot, perhaps its very own Webmail product?
