image thumb25 Steve Jobs has no interest in making a Dedicated eBook Reader… and he is justified

I had been wandering when will Apple begin to talk about stepping into eBook reader business. It has the hardware it can build the readers on and the potential market in the form of iTunes. I was surprised when reports came out that Steve Jobs doesn’t think that Apple should step in that category, which is not so. What he thinks is that it’s quite surprising why people would pay for a device that only helps reading books. Right, this was exactly what I had thought and Apple has the right hardware in the form of iPhone and iPod Touch. Both these devices have done an excellent job in the market with tons of applications and if only Apple is to enlarge the dimensions of the iPhone or iPod touch, they might just make book reading a better experience on those devices. This is just what Steve Jobs has in mind, why should Apple stick to making a dedicated device for book reading when it can leverage its existing technology to create an even better and a much more successful device. I just wonder when is this tablet coming our way?
