Taboola, an Israeli based startup that is working on solutions to make video discovery simple and easy by bringing recommendations into play, has raised $4.5 million in second round of funding led by Evergreen Venture Partners. A group of strategic Israeli & American angel investors also participated in the round.
Taboola’s technology comprises of contextual analysis algorithms combined with collaborative filtering and data mining techniques. The system dynamically analyzes all the videos on a publisher’s website and studies the way viewers behave while they view these videos and based on this information the system generates a personalized video list that recommends the best videos to watch after the current one.
