After twitter, now its Sweetter…a microblogging service developed by SUGUS (group of GNU users from the University of Seville); allows you to comment and write on almost anything.
Sweetter restricts its users to write 140 characters line at a time(as in twitter). But wait, its a service with some remarkable features that really differentiate it from twitter. Voting mechanism let other peoples rate your postings . Karma points will mark the popularity of your post and number of followers. TODO list can be a great help as you can assign tasks to other users. Plugins are available for twitter and Jaiku and you can even make your own plugin. Above all, its an open source service and thus, anyone on earth can built his own twitter.
Sweetter has really added some extra features that might attract number of twitter users, but it has to work hard in order to gain attention of a huge number of twitter Users and Applications (such as TweetCube, Twitterlicious, Twitterlights). Sweetter can keep its fingers crossed, as twitter is gradually loosing its users because of continuous down service.
