StreetAdvisor will be launching today to enable people to easily get access to and review their neighbourhood and more.
StreetAdvisor is based in Australia and aims to become a highly targeted social network for your neighbourhood and streets. It will allow the community to share the essence of their locality by allowing them to share information like street noise, public transportation info, street and night life, gossips and stories of the community. Other social network goodies like ranking, reviews, street maps etc are naturally included.
Users can also share photos, videos and textual description about their neighbourhood with visitors. StreetAdvisor also has several review categories like StreetWired for cellphone reception and internet access, StreetValue for charting cost of living and resale value in the locality, StreetBoard to just mingle around.
StreetAdvisor will truely generate a lot of meaningful and valuable data for real estate hunters and movers and shakers crowd.
Somethings that might come with time could be a locality job board, best buy deals in the locality, some mechanism to accomplish sale or rent of houses, information on how to reach a neighbourhood via local transportation and so on. In time I see this getting huge, and if they execute it right, this could be a social network for many many of us.

Update: VentureBeat has a scoop too.

Hi guys,
Thanks for the great article. We hope to really unlock all the little pieces of information trapped inside people’s heads that simply is not available anywhere else.
We think everyone has got a little something to say about where they live, and now finally StreetAdvisor is the platform to do it. In the end, we think if this kind of information is FREELY available, then everyone benefits. So if you love (or hate) the street where you live, let others know about it!
