Startup Meme, a blog that focuses on covering startup news and the one that you are reading right now, has become a part of Google News, AllTop, TradeVibes, and BlogBurst.
Google News is a computer generated news site that aggregates news head lines from more than 4,500 English language news sources around the world. It than groups these stories according to their similarity and categorize them in sections such as Business, International, Sports, Technology etc. The site also allows users to personalize the site according to their preferences and set up alerts for the keywords of interest to them. Startup Meme is now included into Google News’ search index and you would soon start to see our news stories appear on the site.
Alltop is a service created by the same team that brought to you Truemors. So by retrospect it is backed by Guy Kawasaki. The site is a single page news aggregator that contains different categories such as Startups, Macintosh, Mobile, Movies, RIA and the likes. In these categories you will find headline news from all the blogs that are a part of that particular category. Startup Meme is now a part of the Startup category of Alltop and can be seen lying in Startups.Alltop.com.
TradeVibes is a 2.0 startup directory. It is similar to CrunchBase, which in turn was similar to KillerStartups. TradeVibes allows you to submit startups to the site, comment, rate and discuss them. You can also add other information like which blogs and news sites have reviewed or posted news about that particular startup. Users could also share their opinions about whether they think that startup would make it big or not. There is a forum as well to discuss anything that does not fit in any other section of the website. Unlike KillerStartups, TradeVibes offers all the company news including information about the finances, the management team and so on free of cost. You can also add this information to your site by using their company widget. See this post on Startup Meme for an example. And unlike CrunchBase, TradeVibes links back to you if and when you add their widget to your site, thus increasing your search engine juice. Startup Meme stories would now be directly fed into the News section of TradeVibes. TradeVibes is a six person startup advised by Silicon Valley heavyweights including YouTube co-founder Steve Chen and veteran angel investor Ron Conway.
