Startup Meme has a core focus on web startups. The blog was re-launched on 22nd of May, 2008 after staying dormant for a whole year. Startup Meme reviews 12-15 startups a day on average and have written 571 articles ever since the re-launch.

Startup Meme was initially launched in March 2007, but was discontinued on 15th of May 2007 as the founder and editor Bilal Hameed was unable to give it time due to his educational commitments. However the blog continued to accumulate feed subscribers during this time and have now amassed more than 43,000 feed subscribers.

Ever since its relaunch, Startup Meme has continued to gain in strength with every passing day, literally. The blog had 6000 uniques and 12,000 page views in May (in fact its not for entire May, rather just the last 9 days), 14,000 uniques and 31,000 page views in June, and have already accumulated 12,000 uniques and 24,000 page views in July (data for the first 9 days of July). These stats are reported by Sitemeter and can be viewed here.

Keeping in view this torid growth, Startup Meme expects to reach out to 45,000 unique visitors in July with 100,000 page views, and 75,000 unique visitors in August with 150,000 page views. However, these stats and predictions are based on information provided by Sitemeter. The server logs for Startup Meme presents an entirely different picture and show almost 5x uniques and page views, compared to the ones reported by Sitemeter.

Alexa and Compete, also tell some interesting stories. Compete says that Startup Meme, reached out to almost 40,000 unique visitors in U.S. alone as against Sitemeter’s 14,000 unique visitors. Alexa on the other hand thinks that we are tying up with Center Networks and Marketing Pilgrim (see graphs below).

Looking forward, we intend to significantly beef up our dedicated team of bloggers, which currently include Mohkim Khan, Shoaib Hashmi, Asma Kaleem, and Imran Hussain. On the monetization end, the blog is in talks (informally) with Buzzlogic and Technorati Media for CPM based ad deals. More information about advertising on Startup Meme could be found here.

We thank you, our dear readers for granting us with the generosity of your web visits and for appreciating us in what we are trying to do i.e. bring the latest in startup technology news to you.

Note: Yes you were reading this post on Startup Meme itself, and the post was written by none other than the founder and editor, Bilal Hameed, himself.
