Google Maps is one of the most popular services provided by the search engine giant, Google. Following are some of the tips which will be helpful for you while browsing the service.

You can find a lot of interesting places on Google Maps and to view them closely you need to zoom in. Here is your first tip, you can use your mouse for zooming in and out. If you don’t have a scroll wheel in your mouse, you can double left click the mouse to “zoom in and double right click to “zoom out (Mac users can use Ctrl+Click). If you have a scroll wheel in your mouse, you can scroll down to “zoom in and scroll up to “zoom out.

Furthermore you can use the “+” and “-” keys for zooming. Some keyboard shortcuts are also helpful like the arrow keys can be used to move the map a bit. Also the Pageup key can be used to “North”, Pagedown key can be used to move “South”, Home key can be used to move “East” and End key can be used to move “West”. If you hold down any of these keys, the map will keep on scrolling throughout the screen.

Google Street View also contains some handy keyboard shortcuts. Left arrow or “A key can be used to rotate the map left wards while the right arrow or “D” can be used to rotate the map rightwards. To steer “up” and “down” you can use the W and S keys respectively where as the up and down arrow will let you move forward and backward. The “+” and “-” keys here, can also be used for zooming in and out respectively.
