SodaHead has raised $8.4 million in the round of funding with Mission Ventures. The amount is almost double the previous round which was $4.3 million from angel investors and Mohr Davidow Ventures. SodaHead offers a polling widget for online publishers.
Continuous increase in the traffic of the site has been observed. The site has gained around 600,000 members since its launch in September 2007. Over four million comments on the site suggest the increase in level of popularity of the website.
The widget is easy to use, all you go to do is to create a poll widget on the site, after that you’ll get the code which you can embed to your own site. The answers section allows users to ask questions and give answers to others.
According to Robert Kibble, the Mission Ventures managing partner:
SodaHead’s community and upcoming initiatives are very exciting and I believe SodaHead will be one of the biggest sites on the Internet.
Its good to be optimistic. To be one of the biggest online sites you need to have a vision and a plan, vision is there, they only need a decent plan to accomplish their goals.
