SocialText that rolled out last year with a mash of popular social networking services like Facebook, FriendFeed, etc has just earned itself a healthy round. The wiki startup raised $4.5 million in its fourth round that was participated by Draper Fisher Jurvetson, University Ventures and Omidyar Networks. The funds are a good news but the startup also mentions six layoffs following the funds so that they make profits. A pretty odd way to celebrate investment, hope the startup makes better profits before cutting short its workforce further.
