Orkut has another feature for friends looking to hang out: Events. The feature is present on the left side of the home-page & profile. Add a title and time to the event, and choose which friends you want to invite. There’s even an option that lets you help your friends locate the event place through Google Map, which is created automatically. What you would need to do though, is ‘add more details’ and type in the event’s location in the ‘address’ box.

While the fancy settings also include privacy restriction options, enabling who can join or view the event. Here’s what you can do more with the new feature:

• control whether your event will be a public gathering or a private party
• add photos from your event to remember it long after it’s over
• manage your busy social schedule from anywhere there’s an internet connection
