After making Ocarina for the iPhone that became quite popular as a music app has some cash coming in for its creators. Smule raised a healthy $3.9 million in second round, perhaps to make more music apps (it’s good with that). The company co-founded by Jeffrey Smith and Ge Wang has brought in a number of apps that are interesting to use and highly engaging. They also launched Zephyr for the holidays that enables users to create messages and music by touching the screen. The round was led by Granite Ventures along with existing partners joining in.
