Speed breakers/bumps, though placed to help people with crossing the road are quite a bother, especially when they start effecting on your car’s suspension. Now there’s a new invention however that will do great if implemented: designers Jae-yun Kim and Jong-Su Lee bring speed breakers that actually flatten when you drive slowly over them. Here’s what the designers thought of:
Encouraging drivers to retain a constant slow speed will reduce the amount of stops and starts made, and thus, the amount of exhaust waste from the car. It is hoped that this retractable speed hump would therefore have positive effects on energy consumption and pollution.
