Slashdot, the superstar that was the destination of choice for nerds and geeks before Digg’s birth, is at it again and this time with the slashdottit feature that they have added to the stories in order to allow users to vote on the stories.
Slashdot was eclipsed by Digg both in terms of traffic and Nerd´s destination of choice quiet a while back. Its every now and then that slashdot tries to get back that hip spot, but in vain. May be some one should tell them that just adding the “slashdottit” button won’t do them any good. Its the power that Digg gives to its users, from submission of stories to ultimate outcome of that story, that has made it what it is today i.e Digg. But nevertheless they did got promoted to the front page of Digg with this change, so congrats guys.
