Skimbit: making social shopping useful

Saad Ali Abbasi

skimbit_logoA UK-based service, Skimbit, makes its re-launch as a social booking site to let it decide (buying decisions) for the users. It serves as such that when you’re buying something online, you click through products you like, where the Skimbit browser ad-on lets you add the product. That in-turn saves those at the Skimbit product page, collecting them as you go.

Skimbit puts the products into a project page, where you have pre-configured the criteria on price, dimensions, style, etc. Once the working on the project page is complete, you can compare with a few options available, or invite your partner to comment and rank and they can even add further to the project page. Skimbit also offers a project whiteboard, a checklist, map and a meebo IM window. There’s also a white-label version for publishers/retailers.
