Actually I don't think it's Sitemeter (registrant Site Meter Inc.) itself, but the specificclick.net subdomain adopt.specificclick.net (registrant Proxy, Inc.) that's causing the main problem. I can go to www.sitemeter.com right now, but not to check any of my stats. And the problem I'm having is that EVERY ONE of my sites uses Sitemeter - and removing the code is not going to be at all easy. When sitemeter works, adopt.specificclick.net is up. ...but if you go to http://centralops.net/co/DomainDossier.aspx and type in specificclick.net, and check off the Service Scan box you'll see that when specificclick.net is down that's when sitemeter stops working. I haven't searched to see whether Site Meter Inc. and Proxy, Inc. are owned by the same people, but that would be the next step to see if that's why Site Meter Inc is not responding to troubleshoot the issue - it could be entirely outside of their hands. They SHOULD be telling us if it's Proxy, Inc's (specificclick.net's) screw up though, and give us a timetable as to when it's expected to be fixed.

It's not an "IE bug", it's a problem with Sitemeter's script. If a problem appears on IE, it's always IE's fault, but if it appears in FF, it's the website's fault. C'mon. As far as I know IE didn't make any changes, Sitemeter did.

well sitemeter is testing its new sitemeter script and they have also pointed out about its service unavailability for certain class of sitemeter users on their blog but this IE bug is some thing even i am not aware of.
i dont think sitemeter is reporting any missing statistics but need to check if their is some thing like this bug.
Thanks for sharing with us

Ouch! That's why I developed my own web analyitcs app: http://www.i-stats.com and Google Analytics is NOT real-time (I have no idea how they can get away with that), so if you use Google Analytics and your site is mentioned on a high traffic blog, you won't know until a day or so later...
