I have avoided using sites and services offering weather reporting primarily to the fact that they flood out a whole lot of useless information that ranges from super loaded maps, forecasts for travel and crap when all a user needs is a simple weather report.
SimpleWeather is as simple as the name sounds with nothing that takes you away from the track of knowing what the day is going to be like in your locality. All this or should I say only this by entering the zip code for the city you need to find the forecast. Hosted by Media Temple, the service generates the weather information from data provided by CustomWeather Inc.
It isn’t something flashy and colourful but who needs the entire rainbow colored and a Barbie like layout when what one simply requires is nothing more than knowing the chances of rain? Is it going to be sunny etc? The service makes me take a breath of relief that there are still services that stick to the core purpose of doing what the user asks for and not even a fraction more, otherwise the world is full of services that come in offering one thing and end up with a billion other services within them. To me its utter crap and nothing more, why would I want a weather site that I access, to provide me a travel prediction? And this is where SimpleWeather takes thumbs up from me.
I hope their service offers quality reporting and they don’t face the killing downtimes (that they shouldn’t) and more importantly run into a burrow crying over one thing or the other (such startups unluckily end up this way). I would request the guys to kindly stick to this weather reporting alone other wise I would use their words:
Take me back to the weather, fool!
