Shutterfly, a photo sharing site has now launched Shutterfly Share Sites. The share sites feature allows users to create a page and than share photos around an event (like a wedding party, a web 2.0 conference etc).
Share Sites are fully featured photo blogs with all the necessities like comments, polls, RSS feeds and so on. You can also download an OPML file of feeds of your different photo albums. In addition to this Shutterfly provides users the ability to send pictures from their mobile phones to an email address and they get added up to their blog. Users can also embed Youtube videos on their blog pages. Users can also directly upload videos to their share sites as well.
Shutterfly comes with a variety of templates right out of the box to speed up the process of setting up your personal page. Shutterfly had been beta testing the share sites feature privately for the past 6 months and have hosted 60,000 Share Sites in this time.
Shutterfly is based in Redwood City, California and went public in July 2006 and is traded on Nasdaq with the ticker SFLY. The company makes money by printing photos.
