Since Facebook is growing rapidly growing by millions [350 Million and counting], I just thought isn’t there a governing body to control its population? Maybe not because the more this population increases the more revenues pour in and the higher the social network climbs. But there must be many a users whose profiles meet demise and it has no impact, I mean I never got to know that more than a dozen of my friends deleted their Facebook profiles.
So how do you make an impact upon deleting the profile? Seppukoo, the startup which makes sure your departure from the social network is heard of by all your friends and there is a memorial left to remind them of you. Best thing is each of your friends can share condolences by leaving comments on the memorial page that it provides you with upon your social demise. The startup works quite simply:
Login:
Simply login with your Facebook credentials and commit Seppukoo. Your credentials and information on the social network remain yours and it ensures that it will not interfere with your privacy.
Design Your Memorial & Inform All Friends:
Once logged in, you can enter your last message, design how the page looks, making sure it leaves a mark on your friends. Don’t be intimidated, I bet people will not miss you for long and eventually the saddest of words and the most appealing page wont have them remember you for long. But it will nonetheless create for you a page and send your last words to your friends.
Find A Reason To Live Again:
Well wait and see how many of your friends are bereaved and so miss your virtual presence, leaving you want to live again. Don’t worry it’s not that hard to be reborn, simply login to your Facebook profile and there you are, alive and kicking, leaving your friends overjoyed [or perhaps afraid!].
To be honest, I am not into this but it doesn’t surprise me how the social media is bringing out new ideas forward. I mean we have games like Farmville, etc that already keep us engaged, but what is there for those who continue to grow tired [for any reason] of the platform or are just too crossed with the new privacy settings? If we have so much from the real life coming to the Web, why can’t a virtual suicide of a social profile?
Give us your feedback on what you think of this. Do you think it is worth it and will people actually commit the sin of suicide?
