Salesforce.com is a customer relationship management (CRM) software maker, and an increasingly important platform for business-related apps. The website company is looking to capitalize on its current position and go on to be a bigger player in the cloud computing market as it launched a new service: Force.com Sites. The service allows companies to host public-facing web apps, which tells us that Salesforce is looking to compete with the likes of Amazon Web Services and the Google App Engine. Salesforce has made life easier now with Force.com Sites as previously on Force.com companies could host web apps but only with having to plug into another service such as Microsoft.Net. Though now you can share your tool quickly and easily.
