Run Windows Software on Linux with Wine 1.0

Users find it a daunting task to run windows software on Linux.Windows comes up with a solution with wine 1.0,that enables users to run windows software on Linux.

Extreme Utilization of the system resources is a major problem that user’s face installing multiple operating systems on a single machine.

Wine is not a virtual machine, it’s a software which call API’s whenever Linux user try to run Windows software.The API’s developed by the Wine programmers change the Linux behavior to recognize the application and execute it.

Well it sounds good but nothing is perfect in the world. Main problem with wine 1.0 is that it can’t run the latest softwares. If you’re curious as to what works and what doesn’t, you can consult the application database to check the status of any of the thousands of app’s that have been tested with Wine so far.

Wine 1.0 is available for download in source code form from the main Wine site, but pre-compiled binary packaged versions should be available soon from most major Linux distributions.
