Facebook has pulled the plug on RSS Feed App, which enabled users to read updates by subscribing to these outside Facebook. The reason why this has been shut down is that exporting a friend’s content to a third party is not a very nice thing to do. Well I agree with that, plainly because privacy is what matters most, but I found that pretty useful. Why? Well i didn’t have to switch tabs or open Facebook to read updates, etc. Facebook does miss out at being a bit more open to third parties, perhaps that’s one reason why many users prefer it. But then such things accelerate ease of usability and expanding the service beyond apart from integrating innovation to make it more effective. Whatever the reason be, it’s only time when Facebook will have to adopt a more open methodology and I guess that time is not too far away.
