Roost, a real estate search engine that is fetching its data from MLS listings, has raised $80 million in second round of venture funding from Shasta Ventures. Roost currently has 3.1 million listings in around 30 major US cities and plans to use the proceeds of this round to provide more accurate and comprehensive listings in these cities. TechCrunch has an interesting comparison of Roost and another real-estate search engine Redfin which highlights that Roost barely registers traffic in comparison to Redfin. No wonder, they are surprised at this round.
