Riverbed Technology, the WAN optimization solutions provider for various companies globally, is said to be buying Mazu Networks which is a Cambridge, Massachusetts based enterprise network security solutions provider. The deal includes $25 million in cash payment and a possibility of $22 million in cash which would rely on specific booking target achievement in a defined period of 12 months after the closing.
According to Riverbed’s president and CEO, Jerry M. Kennelly:
Our service provider customers require an integrated system to monitor and deliver a managed WAN optimization service. By providing an integrated solution based on Mazu’s market-leading offerings, we are able to tailor the reporting to demonstrate the value of optimization, which in turn supports the value of the provider’s service to its customers.
