Windows users might just find this news lucky as the iPhone Dev Team confirmed a short while back that they will be releasing the Windows version of the Redsn0w. This will enable users on Windows to jailbreak iOS 4.2.1 using the iOS 4.1 IPSW rather the iOS 4.2 Beta 3 firmware as well as the SHSH Blobs.
First things first, don’t expect the Windows release to breeze through like it does on the Mac OS X. The primary reason for this is that the Redsn0w 0.9.7 for Windows will be utilizing filesystem instead of the RAM. Here’s a bit of information shared by the deb team on the release:
Apple still serves the 4.1 IPSW (not blobs!), we’ll do a Windows redsn0w release for untethered 4.2.1 via Monte-4.1
That’s it we have to share about the Redsn0w 0.9.7 for Windows and we will definitely share more on this and possible release dates for the Windows version of Redsn0w 0.97. This will be the untethered jailbreak.
