Reddit comes up with a new strategy to target web

Reddit_LogoReddit, the social news site, has made an announcement according to which the site has defined a new strategy to share out its technology through out the internet. Reddit has made partnership with U.K.’s famous newspaper “Independent” in order to install its technology on later’s website and persuade readers to vote up or down on a news.

A prominent button will appear on Independent site’s every story for an internal voting system. Also links from all over the web will be accepted.

According to Reddit’s co-founder, Alexis Ohanian:

It’s this kind of open mentality that really excited us about working with them

The social news site made its code open source back in June. According to Caroline McCarthy, it is due to that decision, the current agreement took place. Though Reddit is not as big as its competitor, Digg, yet it will grow because of its distribution policy. It would be interesting to see in which direction this experiment goes, hopefully it will bring better results.
