Richard MacManus has just written a post in which he has made an announcement regarding two of ReadWriteWeb’s blogs AltSearchEngines and last100, going independent. According to him the reason behind it is that the blog wants to focus more on its core brand. With the new strategy, a product called Jobwire was launched last week. Prior to this Enterprise Channel was also launched in August this year. Richard has indicated more channels and products coming soon. The newly independent blogs will now be managed by Charles Knight (AltSearchEngines) and Steve O’Hear (last100). Though the blogs have been separated, Richard will maintain his stake in the. According to Richard:
I will retain a personal stake in both AltSearchEngines and last100, but as of 1 November they are under the majority ownership of Charles Knight (AltSearchEngines) and Steve O’Hear (last100). I’d like to thank Charles and Steve for putting in so much effort to build up AltSearchEngines and last100 respectively.
He also wrote a note on ReadWriteTalk explaining that it was not a network blog but an extension of ReadWriteWeb.
