Qik is partnering with Boingo, a nationwide WiFi provider to provide its users easy accessibility to broadcast mobile videos. With the partnership, Qik’s users will be given a month free Mobile service from Boingo giving them a chance to use 80,000 or so hotspots the service has globally. Qik has been expanding its service to various handsets (including HTC and BlackBerry). I bet this partnership would help Qik generate revenue from its service, but that would bug users with pop ads, etc, plus Qik won’t be advertising the deal on its mobile app.
