Mobile video company, Qik, has made an announcement regarding the release of Qik’s alpha version 1.0 for BlackBerry. The application which is downloadable is available for free.

The application allows handsets such as BlackBerry Pearl 8120, BlackBerry Pearl 8130 and BlackBerry Bold containing BlackBerry OS 4.5. The support for BlackBerry’s Curve and Pearl Flip 8220 will be coming soon. In the beginning, Qik’s signature features won’t be present in the BlackBerry models.

The popular handsets around the world will be having Qik support. Google’s latest Android phone, G1, is not yet supported by Qik. A number of HTC phones have the application support.
