Vibe Solutions, has launched a video aggregator, Pyro.tv. Pyro.tv enables users to create personalized channels, search for popular channels, subscribe to these channels and others users etc. It is in essence a video feedreader, something that Youtube´s channel subscription feature has almost accomplished. Users can also embed their clips in MySpace, Friendster and other social networks.
The real value of creating channels for videos will come with the videos itself and unless and until pyro.tv gets a huge collection of that i dont see it to be of great use. When it comes to building a repository of videos even the great google couldnt beat youtube at its game. For now i guess users would be happy with making channels and subscribing to videos on youtube.

Hey, I saw your review of Pyro.TV and checked it out for myself. Your review compares Pyro.TV to YouTube, however, it seems Pyro.TV is trying to accomplish something far different. In many ways, YouTube is attempting to be the one-stop-shop for all videos that ever existed. In accomplishing this they have made it very hard to get ongoing updates/feeds to video CHANNELS. Try it and you’ll see you are swimming through a sea of user-generated videos that are great eye candy, but not very efficient for consuming channel-based content. When you go right to Pyro.TV you are instantly made aware that their service is all about selecting the channels you want - not a lot of eye candy but clean, utilitarian and effecient. It will be interesting to see how Pyro.TV builds out their channel offerings, expands their channel creation tools and introduces more social networking aspects around channels. Who knows, maybe its not all about how many video titles, but how easy it is to create, personalize and share, that will make the best mouse trap in the end. Just my take.
Joseph are you affiliated with Pyro.tv in some way ? If yes its always good to have a disclosure. What is it that Pyro.tv accomplishes or wish to accomplish with its channels that Youtube is not offering or might not be able to offer albeit with a lot of interesting content ?
Yes it sure is to be seen how Pyro will build its channel tools and other features, alot is still in infancy.
Hey, just read the debate going on. I am a big YouTube fan and I agree with “admin” that Pyro.TV has no hopes of replacing what YouTube does. I go to YouTube to browse a variety of videos, not to create a personal channel viewing experience. I’ve also used video aggregators and frankly I hate to download them to my personal computer…BUT! PyroTV seems like it does a really good job at allowing me customize my OWN channel list, which is really nice. However, I agree that the more channels, the better - and you should really blow out the profiling and friends features. You’ll need it to make it viral. But Pyro.TV is not a bad start at all.
