The worsening economic conditions have not scared gaming fans from buying gaming consoles and playing games. The Q3 results are out for all  the big players and Nintendo has beaten Xbox 360 2:1 – with Wii shipping 803,000 as against XBox’s 370,000. XBox in turn has beaten PlayStation 360 2:1 as PS 3 only managed to ship 190,000 units.

Having said all this, PS3 still managed to pull in a 56% increase in sales over the same period last year amid such tough economic times. This is a remarkable feat in itself and Engadget attributes it to the fact that PS 3 was the best Blu-ray player in the market.
