Ping.fm that enables users to send messages to more than 30 social networks using cell phones, emails or messaging clients has succeeded in getting angel funding. The round was backed by Reid Hoffman (LinkedIn’s new CEO) and Joi Ito and the amount of funding remains undisclosed. The funds will be used to reduce delay times and responses that have become a norm for the users of Ping.fm. The company stated on its blog:
We know the past month or so has been a hassle trying to use our site and services. This is mainly because of not having the resources to maintain the volume of users and overall traffic we are seeing. This investment will allow us to scale our hardware to improve the reliability of our service as well as continue to increase the awesome that is Ping.fm instead of babysitting smoking servers all day.
