Photosynth has proved to be a fad, so much that it went down due to high usage in the first 24 hours for 15 minutes. Users are loving the new way of interacting and presenting their images. And why wouldn’t they? There’s nothing to complain about it, and it’s as easy as it can get. This is where Microsoft can win more hearts than criticism – through such innovations.
Photosynth had been in testing since some time, but as soon as it came out, they allowed you to upload your own images to create your synths, which really proves to be a killer feature. According to the Photosynth blog, as of 1 AM (Pacific) more than 7727 synths have been created containing 286,689 images! People from around the world have been making them. It has proved to be a new form of creativity and visual arts to them, which is just too easy to make and too cool to ignore. The learning curve is very short. You can check out the helpful guide to improve your synthy scores or see this video for a tutorial. You can also contact the support team for help. But I’ve found the guide and video to be very helpful. The best thing about this is there’s not technicality involved, it’s just pure fun.
Although Photosynth is going to go offline today for 30 minutes at around 11:30pm PST (7:30am GMT). And any synths created at that time will need to be repeated. But do give it a try, you’ll regret not using it! Here’s a synth of the Taj Mahal embedded below:
