Microsoft‘s Bing is moving along pretty nice in the search market as it crawled past Yahoo Search once again after its launch. While it has definitely got a long way to go, even to be remotely close to Google, Bing presently stands up at number two with a 13% market share, going past Yahoo’s 10.15%. I was a bit skeptic about this venture from Microsoft, Bing has what it takes especially with the addition of Twitter to its search results.

TokBox, the video chat startup appears to be in trouble as reports state that the startup is firing 50% of its staff. The startup, though had raised around $14 Million in various rounds of funding but has had troubles with its management. TokBox has changed its CEOs thrice in a very short period and there is barely a founder left in its team now. I guess it’s planning out some re-organization and that there TokBox is looking forward to hiring new people.

image thumb48 Google Image Search now lets you find images with Creative Commons License

The problem with writing up a post is finding the right image and more importantly ones you don’t have to worry about taking permissions for. Google today launched a feature for Image Search that lets you find images that fall under the Creative Commons License. This isn’t restricted to the Creative Commons License (CCL) only but images that are tagged with other licenses like GNU Free Documentation license or images that on public domains. The CCL lets artists set ways how their images are used by others i.e in a commercial or noncommercial way. Once the artist has set up how their work is available on the web, Google makes sure that others on the web can find the image for their use.

When it comes to the web and more importantly business across it, the idea to collaborate with customers leveraging the Twitter platform makes things faster and easier. The startup lets users manage multiple accounts from a single dashboard, support multiple editors for each account, keep track on conversations, set tasks, etc. The startup has also raised a healthy $1.1 Million in venture funding from various investors that include, Baseline Ventures, Founders Fund, SV Angel, Maples Investment, Freestyle Capital and First Round Capital.

Mobile Video Streaming service provider, Qik continues to grow and raise funds. Qik raised $5.5 Million in a new round of funding and it came from Camp Ventures. Quest Venture Partners and other private investors. Although it has competitors like Kyte, etc but being featured in the Ovi Store and coming preloaded on Nokia S60 phones has definitely given it a big boon to its growth.
