Outshouts, a Menlo Park, California-based company launched its web site recently, a service that allows users to personalize videos and songs. Outshouts had a quiet launch in July 2008, and traffic has risen to more than 300,000 visits a month, with 2 million page views. Outshouts’ competitors include Slide, RockYou and Animoto.
YouTube is a big video-sharing platform, but it does not allow ease of use with creating video introductions the the videos you want to share. Outshouts is looking to leave behind its competition and roll out a whole new ball game of its own, as it’s looking to add animated photos, voice messaging and slide shows to it’s features. Find, play, and save videos/songs from the Internet and personalize them with messages of your own.
You can insert messages with your webcam or phone, and send to anyone you want or even embed the video in any of your social network profiles like MySpace or Facebook. Recording a message on a video is easy: just click select, record a message with your webcam or phone, and send!
Lets see what the service has to say:
OUTSHOUTS is the best way to personalize, send and share web media. Just find a great video you want to OUTSHOUT, add your own personal audio or video message, press send. It’s a great way to say happy birthday, advance a cause, dedicate a song, connect with your mom, make someone laugh, or just say hi.
Outshouts lets you find media (videos), all you got to do is add a shout, and send. It’s up to you if you want to send to one person or a whole bunch of people. It also allows you to send to mobile phones as an SMS and post on your blog or social network pages. Now that’s really cool.
Outshouts works by grabbing millions of videos that are already on the web, via its search engine. The company says in the last 60 days, more than 500,000 ‘Outshouts’ have been sent, shared played and embedded. Outshouts was formed in October 2007, is self-funded and has four employees. The expected revenues are from ads, affiliate programs, consumer paid accounts, and a professional version of the service for sales and marketing people.
