The entire so-called business deal between Yahoo/Microsoft/Icahn has somehow turned into a Hollywood flick with tons of masala that is ready to spice up both the readers and us the bloggers. There are a million words from every mouth and almost every one, when speaks for one’s own self appears to be the most humble beneficiary of the other. Sigh, it has caught so much repetition in the script that it now seems absolute dragging; lets just leave that aside and focus at what Microsoft popped out in their press release.
The response was made to the statement released by Yahoo stating that they have rejected the joint offer from Microsoft and Icahn. The statement pointed out at Yahoo chairman, Roy Bostock being a bit too harsh with his claims related to Microsoft; one such being Microsoft’s desires at replacing the Board of Directors in Yahoo and the ouster of Jerry Yang. Denial is the key here and Microsoft claims at having no such plans and at a make over of Yahoo admin.
Apart from this, another aspect of this statement makes one feel as if Yahoo came trotting o Microsoft to pinch in a deal that they had denied in favor of a deal with Google. Plus recent hits by Jerry Yang at both Icahn and Microsoft reveal how bruised every one is in this battle that has expanded beyond time to make it boring. So where does it actually end up? We have absolutely no idea but thee amount of desperation shown by each of the three parties (I would not include Jerry Yang here for he hangs in the most awkward position).
It has been an interesting drama so far, something that must be beyond what Lucas can do for Star Wars or Spielberg for Jurassic Park; all in all we all know that this deal is peeling every one alike and all it needs is a few days off to cool off the fired egos. Till then we here would at least run off and watch some flick to fresh ourselves up while you read the comically titled Press release by Microsoft .
Don’t be ridiculed by the title of this post, I had my head honking when I read the release that had Microsoft mentioned at more than a dozen places with a statement hardly 50 sentences long!
