Veteran Social Network Orkut today finally announced it’s Google talk integrated chat feature, similar to that in Gmail. It’s been quite late if you look at the feature that is being released today in comparison to that present in Facebook.

Google Talk in orkut lets you:

• chat with your orkut friends in real time from directly within orkut
• control which of your orkut friends can chat with you
• chat with your Google Talk and Gmail chat contacts
• visit different orkut pages while keeping your chatboxes open

I am using it already, and already liking it. But do you think it’s rather too late for Orkut to thump back or will the new feature set with the new application model help Orkut? Comment…
