When it comes to expanding your service far and wide, the idea to open up the API is the best way to do it. LinkedIn is doing exactly that, beginning with the much needed Twitter integration all the way to presently opening up its API. The social network for professionals has released around 11 APIs categorized into the following:

• Users will be able to access LinkedIn using their oAuth.
• Letting users make decisions on the messages, information, etc about their connections on the network.
• Letting users embed their search in other third party applications.

The network has been growing exponentially over the last year or so and the void left for developers by not being able to integrate it with other apps is more or less filled with this update. Which means that the example of being open, set by Twitter is definitely something to look forward to and pretty fruitful. And more importantly TweetDeck will be launching its support for LinkedIn.
