The online flash website builder Wix has raised an amount of $3.5 million in the second round of funding. With this round of funding, the Israel based company’s total amount raised has reached $8.5 million. The amount was raised from Mangrove Venture Partners and Bessemer Venture Partners.
Founded in 2006, the company provides free service but now they have announced that they will be launching a premium membership package which will include web hosting and other related tools. Premium members will be charged $9.90 per month.
With the current round of funding and the availability of new features, the company is very much confident it will have an edge over their competitors such as Weebly Inc, Synthasite Pty, etc. One thing which can really make a difference is the fact that Wix’s competitors are more focused on general web hosting and design tools than flash. This will certainly give them an edge.
