Shorty Awards provides an opportunity to nominate the world’s best Twitterer in several different categories. There are a number of categories such as humor, tech, startups, entertainment, politics, apps, photography, science, sports, etc. Five Twitterers with the most votes in each category will go through a final voting round and the winner will deliver a speech in a ceremony which will be held in the New York City. The best part of the ceremony is that the speech will be limited to 140 characters in order keep alive the essence of micro-blogging. Users can either nominate through the Shorty Awards or through Twitter by tweet. To nominate via tweet you have to use @shortyawards, @NomineeUsername, #category and the reason why you think the user deserve the award.
