Nintendo records a successful launch after selling half a million DSi (hand-held) consoles’ in Japan in its first month. A figure of 543,000 DSi consoles were sold till November 1st, as compared to the sales of DS – 1.327 million and DS Lite – 547,000 in the first five weeks.
The DSi console is 12% thinner than the DS Lite, contain two cameras – one on the internal hinge pointed towards the user (.3 megapixel) and another one outside the shell (3 MP). It also has an SD card slot and has its own internal flash memory with a built-in web browser. There is a lot more to explore and enjoy; the new hand-held sounds like a good buy at $178 (A little too high for a casual gamer like me though).
