Netvibes Buzzes with Netvibes Buzz

netvibesbuzz-thumb Netvibes Buzzes with Netvibes BuzzNetvibes is certainly one of the most popular startup to offer a universal homepage. The service allows users to easily access and view news, information and media from a bunch of different websites in a single page. This personalized home page service has now quietly introduced a new public feature called Buzz.

Buzz basically records and locates the few top most starred links throughout the home pages of Netvibes network.

The facility of starring any link is transparent to every Netvibes user. They can easily star RSS Readers, Youtube boxes, Digg widgets, and other widgets. The starred items are then displayed in users’ public activity streams on Digg-Like front page where people can observe what others are starring the most. By using an activity widget, users can also check out the starred items on their home pages.

Despite lagging behind the popular personalized web services (Like My Yahoo, iGoogle and MyAOL), Netvibes may get a huge amount of traffic because of its Buzz. Although there are several sites responsible for social bookmarking but a feature like Buzz may gain popularity due to its use of use.

The announcement of Buzz is not official as it is still under development but I expect the feature to quickly become popular with the Diggers who don’t want to leave the warm interiors of their personalized homepages.
