The dust finally settles over MySpace as it confirmed hiring Owen Van Natta as the new CEO, replacing Chris DeWolfe. Van Natta had been an exec at Facebook and Amazon. Van Natta, though has the right kind of experience to be the CEO, but given that MySpace can barely stand in the race to be the number one social network, his ventures lately make one question if he really is the one for the job. He will be leaving the music startup Playlist, which hasn’t quite made its mark and also owns quite a large part in Facebook. Let’s see if he is able to help MySpace give a tough competition to Facebook and not become a very distant second.
