MySpace, the worlds 2nd most popular social networking site has revamped the social networking business in partnership with Intel and Internet pioneer Yahoo!, to bring social networking to TV sets. A MySpace widget, or mini computer program, embedded in certain new television models will allow members to watch TV while connecting with online profiles and friends, according to theNews Corp.-owned Internet firm.
We’re giving our users an entirely new way to easily enjoy, share and access MySpace content through the new MySpace experience for TV. By empowering our users to access their MySpace network while also enjoying TV, we continue to provide new and unique ways to keep them engaged and connected, said MySpace vice president of business development Jason Oberfest.
Bringing the TV and the internet together is the key to many gadgets and apps this CES. Electronic giant Toshiba will be bringing out such TV sets later this year into the consumer market.
But the question remains, will this move by MySpace give it an edge to to be on top gain beating facebook?
