Mozilla Foundation is planning to end the support for Firefox 2 in mid-December, which means that the users wont get any security and stability updates for releases for Firefox 2 and and end to releases of new features for that version. This is in conjunction with Mozilla’s policy of ending support for previous versions of a product after six months of launch of a new version. The policy enforces Firefox developers to focus their efforts on the newer versions.
