Jetpack: Slidebar from Aza Raskin on Vimeo.
Mozilla Labs have released Jetpack .2, the project it started last month which deemed to revolutionize the way extensions are installed within our browsers. The release boasts of a few new features that include, slidebars, persistent storage and Clipboard support and jetpack.future. These features will help make the browsing experience better for the users.
The Slidebars feature would enable users to have an easier access the information present on the sides of browser window. This may include your streams from FriendFeed, Facebook or videos from YouTube, which you can watch as you browse. The Jetpack.future enables developers to make use of the APIs that haven’t been perfected as yet. Meaning that it transforms your browser into an experimentation platform. The Persistent storage enables continuous storage of data across the restarts that occur. Seriously this was one feature that many developers would have wanted as it would eliminate frustrations caused when a reboot drives one mad, especially if you have got multiple tabs open.
