You may have come across different micro-blogging services like Twitter, Plurk, etc. but ‘mixin‘ is something little different than those. It is more like a micro-agenda according to their website or you can simply call it a micro-scheduler. It is a service that allows you to share your activities and aggregate them in a timeline.
If you’re planning to do an activity, you don’t have to call your friends and ask them if they want to join in, all you have to do now is to set your status on the website and write the name of the activity, place of event and time. Your friends will know about your activity and those available will join you.
To avail the service you have to go through an easy process of registering. Your friends can add comments on your thread, they can embed snaps through flickr or add video using YouTube. You can define your schedule of the whole week or go through day by day. You can filter stuff by type or by friends.
Activities can not only be updated using the website, but they can also be updated using IM, SMS, Email or Twitter. If you’re going out with a friend(s), you can add him along with yourself in the activity. While specifying places, you can use Google Maps which will be very helpful for your friends in finding the place. You can also discover new people and follow their activities.
The timeline can be associated with the blog, website or and email id. OpenID is also supported by the service.
This layout of the website is cool and the service is very much interesting. Induction of more features like customized features, live status, etc. can make this service more attractive. One thing which they have to see is whether the service will be able to maintain itself if it gets a larger number of users or not. Overall thumbs up for the new service.

thanks for the review Shoaib. micro-scheduler is a nice definition for mixin. It’s about creating opportunities of social activities, by sharing and discussing ideas and plans.
we are working on better integration with external calendar so that you’ll be able to publish to mixin directly from your gCal or another calendar application. Coming also very soon, a small badge to share on your blog your micro-agenda. It could be also interesting if you want to share events that could interest your readers.
