Microsoft BizSpark is a new program brought forward to encourage startups to build their web service/tools on. The service is being offered free for 3 years. This is being run by VP Strategic and Emerging Business Development Dan’l Lewin, and is a global program, providing access to full-featured development tools with production licenses of server products and technical support – at no upfront costs. How can you get into this program you ask? Well it seems you need to be referred via a network of venture capitalists, consultants and other professionals, who are in a position to flag promising companies. Also: your startup needs to have been running the business for less than three years before applying, and have less than $1 million in revenue. Sounds like a good deal?
